At Westminster

Greg chairs the All-Party Historic Vehicles Group of which he is a founder member and he is also Treasurer of the British American Parliamentary Group.

At Westminster, he regularly brings issues of concern to East Yorkshire to the attention of Ministers.
He has served as a senior Government Whip and between 2005 and 2012 he chaired the influential Procedure Select Committee, which looks at the practices and procedures of Parliament.

As a backbencher, amongst his legislative achievements are the doubling of ‘drinking up time’ in pubs to 20 minutes and, more recently, the Estates of Deceased Persons Act, which he put on the statute book in 2011.
