Bridlington’s MP Sir Greg Knight was joined by Robert Goodwill, the MP for Scarborough and Whitby at the weekend when they both came along to support the Bridlington Seafood Festival 2019.

Mr Goodwill, who is Minister for Fisheries, was in town especially to visit the event, which was organised by The Fisheries Local Action Group.

The aim of the festival is not only to give local residents and visitors to the town a taste of the coast but is organised to highlight the increased contribution that the local fishing industry makes towards sustainable fishing and economic regeneration of the East Riding’s coastal communities.

The two MPs spent over two hours chatting to local fishermen, organisers and visitors.

East Riding MP Sir Greg said that he was delighted to see the return of the Festival which was not only a local showcase but was also “a colourful and entertaining event which helps to boost tourism”.
