East Yorkshire MP, Sir Greg Knight has teamed up with music stars and MPs to record a new version of the Rolling Stones hit ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ in support of the Jo Cox Foundation.

Sir Greg performs on the recording with the other members of MP4, the world’s only parliamentary rock group, made up of Labour’s Kevin Brennan MP on guitar and vocals, former Brigg and Goole Labour MP Ian Cawsey on bass guitar and vocals and SNP MP Pete Wishart on keyboards. Sir Greg plays drums and percussion on the track.

MP4 were joined by Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, singer/songwriter David Gray, vocalist KT Tunstall, Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley and 20 MPs from the Parliamentary Choir to record the single to honour the legacy and work of the late Batley and Spen MP who was brutally murdered earlier this year.

The song is on release now from Chrysalis Records and is available for immediate download from SPOTIFY and iTUNES.

Sir Greg, who has played the drums since he was at school, said: “Many people from across the political spectrum have given up their spare time for this project to support Jo’s legacy.”

Proceeds from the single will go towards the launch of a foundation established in Mrs Cox’s name following her death.
