Residents from across East Yorkshire including Bridlington, Market Weighton, Driffield and Pocklington have visited the House of Commons this week on a trip organised by Ross Weeks of Driffield.

During their time at Westminster the group of 30 were given a tour of the Parliamentary Estate including Westminster Hall, the House of Commons Chamber, the Queen’s Robing Room, the House of Lords and the Royal Gallery before assembling in one of Parliament’s committee rooms where they were addressed by their MP Sir Greg Knight.

Sir Greg welcomed the group to Westminster before explaining how Parliament works. He then answered numerous questions from the group, who were interested to learn more about ‘Brexit’, House of Lords reform and the new Prime Minister Theresa May.
