East Yorkshire MP Sir Greg Knight has been quizzed by school students in Wold Newton about his work as an MP and the workings of democracy in Britain.

Sir Greg paid a visit to Wold Newton School to speak to year 5 pupils at the invitation of teacher Mrs Justine Sutcliffe. He explained how laws are made at Westminster, gave an insight into the work of a Member of Parliament and answered questions about the Magna Carta and the formation of Britain’s democratic system.

After the visit Sir Greg said, “I was delighted to visit the school and explain the workings of Parliament. I was very impressed with the interesting and varied questions from the students”.

Sir Greg adds “I believe that it is important that Members of Parliament visit schools and explain our system of government to the pupils so that they learn about how are laws are made before they reach voting age.”
