East Yorkshire MP Sir Greg Knight who is Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Historic Vehicles has backed a very unusual request to ‘vandalise’ the paintwork of a car.

To generate funds to keep teenagers away from the clutches of street life, a BMW convertible car is being auctioned complete with over 25,000 signatures written over the paintwork.

The auctioneer contacted Sir Greg to secure the signatures of Britain’s leading politicians to ‘sign up’ to the idea.

Sir Greg arranged for Prime Minister David Cameron to add his signature to the car along with fellow MPs, the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne and many others.

The strikingly presented car, with its high-profile signatures, will be auctioned to raise funds for drop-in youth centers and to educate teenagers about the perils of gang culture.
