Pocklington and Market Weighton MP Sir Greg Knight officially launched the 2014 Giant Bradley Day Celebrations in Market Weighton at the weekend.
The MP joked that he was the right choice for the task as he was “Britain’s second tallest MP”, although Sir Greg admitted that at six feet four inches tall he would still be dwarfed by Giant Bradley who was a whopping seven feet nine inches.
After the official opening, Sir Greg spent two hours chatting to the crowds and visiting the shops and stalls in the town centre.
The MP said the event was a great showcase for Market Weighton and was well worth residents and tourists alike attending.
Although the weather on the day was mixed, the threat of rain was not enough to deter the crowds.
